About Red Dwarf
Building the future of live streaming infrastructure
We believe streaming infrastructure should be fast, reliable, and accessible to every developer — not locked behind expensive enterprise contracts.
Red Dwarf started with a simple observation: the tools available to stream video were either consumer-grade toys or enterprise monoliths costing six figures. There was nothing in between.
We set out to build a streaming server that could handle 150,000 concurrent connections on a single node, support every major protocol, and be configured in under five minutes. We chose Rust for its performance guarantees and memory safety — because when you're serving live video to hundreds of thousands of viewers, every millisecond and every byte matters.
Today, Red Dwarf powers live events, surveillance systems, educational platforms, and enterprise communications for teams around the world. And we're just getting started.

Our values
What drives us
Performance first
Every architectural decision is made with performance in mind. Zero-copy data paths, lock-free concurrency, and async I/O are not optional — they're foundational.
Reliability is non-negotiable
Rust's type system and ownership model eliminate entire classes of bugs. Combined with extensive testing, we deliver infrastructure you can trust at scale.
Developer experience matters
Great infrastructure disappears. Our APIs are intuitive, our documentation is thorough, and getting started takes minutes, not days.
Open standards
We embrace open protocols and standards. RTMP, HLS, WebRTC, SRT — we support the ecosystem rather than building walled gardens.
Careers
Build the future with us
We're a fully remote team looking for people who care deeply about performance, reliability, and developer experience.
